Fourth Edition of Federal Income Taxation of Securitization Transactions and Related Topics
by James M. Peaslee and David Z. Nirenberg
Published by Frank J. Fabozzi Associates, 2011
The book is a comprehensive guide to federal income tax issues that arise for investors, sponsors and issuers in securitizations and structured finance transactions generally. Earlier editions have been widely regarded as the standard text on the topic (one IRS financial products specialist described it as the “bible”).
The new edition covers, in addition to securitizations, a range of tax topics that are of general interest in structuring and analyzing financial transactions. The topics covered are described in Topics Covered and Summary of Contents, on this website. Additional information may be found in the Preface, which describes the new topics covered in the Fourth Edition, in the complete Table of Contents, and in Chapter 1, which describes the tax issues that arise in securitizations and how those issues are addressed in the book. They are available under Downloads, on this website. The book is intended as a resource for tax professionals, but has been written (to the extent possible) in “plain English” so that it will be accessible to anyone with an interest in the area. Citations are found for the most part in footnotes. To keep the book current, there is an Update available for free under Downloads on this website. The Update will be revised periodically, as of the date stated on the first page of the Update.
The book has 1,301 pages of text, divided into 17 chapters, a Glossary, Appendices, Table of Authorities and Index
