Don M. Chance, PhD., CFA

Don M. Chance, Ph.D., CFA is First Union Professor of Financial Risk Management at Virginia Tech. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses and has extensive experience as an instructor in professional development programs and a consultant in derivatives and risk management. Don serves as an advisor to several derivatives exchanges, including the Chicago Board of Trade and the New York Mercantile Exchange. He is the author of the widely used text An Introduction to Derivatives, 4th edition, and the recently published Essays in Derivatives. He is a frequent speaker at various derivatives conferences and his research is widely published and cited. Don is an Associate Editor of The Journal of Derivatives, The Journal of Financial Engineering, The Journal of Alternative Investments, and The Financial Review, and was formerly co-editor of Advances in Futures and Options Research.
